About the Gianna Center of Philadelphia

The Gianna Center of Philadelphia is dedicated to providing general gynecologic care, natural family planning education and infertility services - all while honoring the sanctity of each human life, the dignity of women and the integrity of marriage. All medical treatments are aimed at restoring the reproductive system and work cooperatively with a woman's body.

VISION

The ultimate goal and purpose of the Gianna Center of Philadelphia is to lay the foundation necessary for the culture of life to flourish in the lives of individuals and families.

MISSION

The mission of the Gianna Center of Philadelphia is to provide pro-life reproductive healthcare for women and families which follow the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services as outlined by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops

  • Medical NaProTECHNOLOGY ®

  • Education in the Creighton Model FertilityCare System™

  • Referrals to surgeons who practice NaPro surgery when necessary.

  • Treatment of a variety of conditions including cycle irregularity, pelvic pain, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), post-partum depression, polycystic ovarian disease (PCOS), endometriosis, multiple miscarriage and premature birth.

  • Medical resource for organizations providing services to abortion vulnerable women.

  • Referrals to social services for families in need.

  • All services provided regardless of individual’s ability to pay.

The Gianna Team

Delia Larrauri

  MD. FACOG

Dr Larrauri graduated medical School in her  home country, Venezuela, at Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado. While at medical school she married Jorge, who is also a doctor, now a Trauma and critical care surgeon.

In 2006 she moved to Philadelphia, where she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Albert Einstein Medical Center. She  completed the Creighton Model and NaProTECHNOLOGY® Medical Consultant training through the Pope Paul VI Institute for the Study of Human Reproduction in 2017. Dr Larrauri is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Delia and Dr. Jorge have two children.

Barbara Rose

AGPCNP, CFCP

Barbara is a certified Fertility Care Practitioner and nurse practitioner. She earned her baccalaureate degree in nursing at Syracuse University and her Masters degree in community health nursing at the University of Pennsylvania.  She obtained her certificate to become an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse practitioner through Neumann University in Aston, PA. She and her husband taught the sympto-thermal method for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia before she became a Fertility Care Practitioner in 2004. She was named the Fertility Care Practitioner of the year in 2011 by the American Academy of Fertility Care Professionals. She received the James D. Kelly Pioneer Award in 2019.

Karla Semen, FCPI

Medical Assistant

Karla completed her Medical Degree in her home country, Venezuela, where she also worked as a Physician at the ER in hospitals located in impoverished communities. Aligned with her passion for helping others, she loves languages and speaks 3 - Spanish, Italian, and English. In this field, she worked as an interpreter in different congresses of medical societies back in her country. In 2018, Karla moved to Pennsylvania to continue her education in the United States.

Dr. Max E. Mercado, M.D

​

Dr. Mercado is a physician specializing in internal medicine who founded Mercado Medical Practice LLC in Philadelphia in 2003. He has won the Patients’ Choice Award in 2011 for the Pennsylvania region and was named a Top 10 Doctor in 2012 for the "Internist in Fox Chase/Burholme" category. He is the president of the Philadelphia County Medical Society and is a fellow in the College of Physicians of Philadelphia.  He is the president of the Bucks County chapter of Legatus.

Patrick Stanton

​

Mr. Stanton is the oldest son of John Stanton, founder and director of the Pro Life Union in Philadelphia.  He has been active in the pro-life and other human rights movements for many years. With his wife Wendy, he founded Our Lady’s House, a home in Glenside that provides temporary shelter for pregnant women and their children.

Peter Rawson

​

Mr. Rawson worked for 20 years in the International Trading business of Textile and Plastic Raw Materials. He is currently working as a partner with his brother in Rawson Partners, LLC, a property management company in Forth Washington, PA. Mr. Rawson is a volunteer for the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia and is very active volunteer at  A Baby's Breath, a non-profit organization that provides support services for pregnant women. He has many years of experience in managing non-profits organizations and is passionate about building a culture of life in our community.

Gina Meigs

​

Gina Meigs has been a volunteer with the Gianna Center since 2019 helping with the bookkeeping needs of the Center. Gina, and her husband Laurence, have been supporters of Catholic education in the Philadelphia area helping families have the opportunity to send their children to Catholic Schools.

Brian Gail 

​

Brian J Gail is a retired former CEO of an Interpublic advertising firm, chief marketing officer of the Aramark Corporation and the founder and CEO of Gailforce Marketing which served elite Fortune 500 corporations and U.S. Government agencies including Exelon, KPMG, SAP, Aramark and the U.S. Department of Energy.

Mr. Gail has chaired the boards of numerous charitable foundations including the William Booth Society, the National Adoption Center and the World Affairs Council. He is a patent holder, a co-founder of three Regina Academies, and a Knight of the Immaculate. He is also the best-selling author of the American Tragedy in Trilogy – Fatherless, Motherless and Childless, - which exposes the myth of the utopian promise of the Life Sciences Revolution.

Mr. Gail holds an undergraduate degree in English literature and an MBA in Marketing from LaSalle University. He and his wife of 47 years, formerly Joan Kain, have 7 children and 10 grandchildren.

William Burke

​

For 20+ years, Bill Burke held several senior level financial leadership and operational positions with CertainTeed Corporation, a major building materials manufacturer in Valley Forge, PA. After his tenure with CertainTeed, Bill was hired by Nason Construction Inc. in 2004 as the firm's Chief Financial Officer, where he later served as VP and CFO. He joined The Norwood Company as VP and CFO in 2013. In 2017, he would play a key role in the sale and successful transition of the company from a single, legacy owner to several members of the company leadership team.

Bill is a member of the Knights of Columbus, and has led parish Bible Study groups for the past five years.  He recently lead a capital campaign for Saint Elizabeth Parish in Chester Springs, raising over 4.5 million dollars.

He is a loving husband to Trisha and a loving father to three adult children.

Patricia Burke

​

Tricia Burke graduated from Cabrini College with an elementary education degree and taught at several Catholic schools in Kansas City and the Philadelphia area for ten years. She then left-full time work to raise three children, spending her free time volunteering with school and parish events and working part-time at various companies such as QVC, the Chester County Intermediate Unit, and Bath and Body Works. She now works as an administrative assistant for Lubker and Ostein lawfirm and has been there for ten years.  

She is a loving wife to Bill and a loving mother to three adult children.
